Announcement of Thermal Simulation Function
Issue Date: 30-Jan-2025

We have added a new, "Thermal Simulation," feature to our website.

The true cooling performance of a heatsink depends on several factors, including heat source size, wattage, airspeed, etc... In other cases, multiple heat sources are cooled using a single heatsink. Our online datasheets do provide performance values, but the test conditions may not match a customer's specific conditions, making it difficult to predict real-world performance.

With the new Thermal Simulation feature, customers can input their specific parameters, such as the number and position of heat sources, power dissipation, ambient temperature, airspeed, etc. This allows customers to predict performance that will closely resemble real-world conditions. Simulation results can be obtained quickly, allowing users to adjust parameters and optimize their thermal design.

In the future, we plan to integrate this simulation function with our online heatsink customization feature, enabling performance predictions for customized heatsinks as well. This simulation feature can be accessed from each catalog page of our all-aluminum fin-type heatsinks.

Note:

  • - Simulation results are based on a model and may not accurately reflect real-world conditions.
  • - Final heat sink selection should be based on actual testing.
  • - We assume no liability for any decisions or consequences resulting from the use of this simulation data.
  • - Heat sink design features will be simplified for simulation purposes.
  • - Some examples would be fin shape, fin gap, and fin thickness, which may slightly differ from actual catalog parts.
